McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top6 UK Accountancy Firm who are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their growing Thames Valley team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the role would ideally suit a Qualified Accountant with CTA or ATT qualification (or equivalent) from another mid- to top-tier or Regional Accountancy practice. You will be assisting with coaching junior staff and you must be able to demonstrate strong Corporate Tax expertise and knowledge. Key duties include:

• Providing solutions to technical issues and being able to demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge to supervise relevant project areas
• Working on key advisory projects for leading clients within the IT, Construction, Food, Retail and other key business sectors (up to £50/60m turnovers)
• Supporting the senior management team within portfolio management
• Participating in business development opportunities and working with Partners and Managers to promote the firm’s tax expertise
• Developing tax efficient structures for client investments in the OMB marketplace
• Liaising directly with clients regarding corporate tax compliance matters on the phone and in person
• Overseeing and appraising a number of junior tax staff within the office
• Ensuring that the quality of corporate tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales, and adhering to the Firm’s quality standards.
• Liaising with the Tax Directors & Partners to ensure that work is completed within budget

To be considered for the role, you should ideally be seeking a move to a larger accountancy firm where wider responsibilities and a broader client base will be made available, or from a Top4 firm looking for broader corporate tax experience. Previous management of your own client portfolio is required, along with strong Advisory & Compliance experience and staff management skills. With excellent team-work and relationship building skills, you should be able to help develop new and existing business, work well under pressure yet still deliver on time and budget.
