Interim Operations Director - Rail
Day rate in excess of £500 per day (negotiable) - 6 months contract with possible extension
Based: London / UK (Flexible) / Home based
The Operations Director - Rail will lead and direct the Operations, Performance and Planning teams, controlling and directing performance processes both internally and externally to deliver against challenging targets within the rail sector. This is a high visibility, high performance role, and the Operations Director - Rail is a key figure in the business.
Our client is a major passenger transportation / travel organisation with operations throughout the UK.
The successful Operations Director - Rail will be educated to degree level or equivalent with significant managerial experience of railway operations. This experience will include a good understanding of Track Access Contracts, Network Code and Railway Code, together with knowledge of the Railway regulatory framework.
The Operations Director - Rail will have a track record of directing operations within a train operating company (in UK or abroad). A professional qualification such as Membership of Institute of Logistics and Transport (MCILT), Membership of Institute of Railway Operators (MIRO) or similarly relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
The Operations Director - Rail will possess the management skills necessary to successfully execute a senior role within the rail industry and will be an excellent communicator, problem solver and negotiator with outstanding interpersonal skills.
