Head of Buying - Electrical

Leading UK retailer is currently looking to recruit at a senior leadership level for a Head of Buying within the Electrical & Technology department.

This award winning, blue chip business is market leading and has been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of their retail offer across a number of product areas and has become one of the most trusted high street retailers. The ideal candidate for this role will have exceptional experience from a Bluechip retail or FMCG background ideally from an audio, visual, entertainment or gaming background ( though not essential) with a proven ability to lead a senior team to shape and deliver the business strategy and goals.

Your performance will be reviewed by achieving your financial KPI's & leading the internal governances. You must enjoy the autonomy to make exclusive commercial and strategic decisions.

Your roles include -



* Fully financial accountable for delivering both strategic and commercial objectives for the Buying Group
* Inspiring and developing the team through proactive succession planning and development.
* Clear communication of the Business and Operating plan and gaining buy-in from internal stake-holders
* Responding to market trends, anticipating customer needs and identifying emerging opportunities.
* Working with external suppliers to ensure the assortment has a compelling price and exclusive deals
* Exceptional negotiating and supplier management skills
* Develop and motivate the team to hit certain goals and milestones.
* Influencing and managing stakeholders

To be successful you must be a-

* Have a proven background from a Retail Buying background with significant experience from an Electrical environment
* Have a strong commercial instinct
* Be an independent thinker & have excellent self direction
* Have a great balance across the perceived Leadership behaviours that will be complimentary in delivering commercial success whilst adhering to the customer requirements
* Ability to lead and coach to deliver outstanding results as part of a team
* Excellent communication at all levels including influence at a director & stakeholder level
