Senior Practice Manager

Experienced qualified accountant required to take responsibility for two long established and successful practice with 3 offices in Reading, Alton and Aldershot (£1m+ fees). Current accounting support staff structure is in place though recent UK Practice experience is still essential. Excellent career opportunities and future growth prospects.

Job Purpose:
To effectively manage a small team in-house and a back office team based in India, to liaise with and provide financial information to clients from the reports produced. To assist with the growth of the practice through management of current clients and acquisition of new clients.

Reports to:
Director

Job Duties:

Client liaison
To be the point of contact for all client liaison.
Complete client profile summary.
Meeting clients to discuss accounts.
Where appropriate and jointly with India team, recommend financial actions by analysing accounting reports.
Advising clients on tax planning (within current legislation to enable them to minimize their tax liability)
Advise clients on areas of business improvement.
Negotiate the terms of business with clients as required.
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Detect and prevent money laundering.

Account Management
To ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt.
Ensure India team is on schedule with invoice raising and client fee payment. Liaise directly with client when necessary.
Standardise and update client engagement letters.

Management
Manage UK based staff (currently 14 staff).
For unusual accounting or tax issues, proactively research and inform the Indian team for exceptions.
Managing the office, IT systems, security, as appropriate. Update Directors by means of a weekly report.
To implement occasional bookkeeping/accounting work only if required and if it is more efficient for the company as a whole to do so.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops- reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Business Development
Assist Business development Director as required to promote the practice and acquire new clients (e.g. attending occasional evening events)
Meet prospective clients, discuss requirements and create proposal (with assistance from Directors).
Extend the value chain by introducing new services to existing clients at all touch points.
