Front End Developer - HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JSON, XML, REST
Overview
The job holder will work with a range of stakeholders to collaboratively ensure that systems are designed and built to meet the defined business, functional, technical, performance and security requirements. The position will bring extensive coding knowledge and experience to the development lifecycle while playing a key role in the architectural design of solutions, during both solution design meetings and coding.
Programming Skills
The Front End Developer will be expected to be highly knowledgeable and experienced in:
*Minimum 5 years experience as a front-end web developer working on commercial applications
*Expert knowledge of HTML5 and OOP JavaScript
*Expert knowledge of CSS2 and CSS3
*Knowledge of AngularJS or similar JavaScript templating frameworks
*Knowledge of modern tool chains, such as Grunt, Bower, NPM, Yeoman, LESS, SASS, etc.
*Expertise in front-end testing
*Industry experince of JSON, XML, REST services
*Comfortable developing for desktop and mobile devices
*Preferable Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related
*Worked in an Agile environment, TDD, Continuous Integration, JIRA, Sonar
*Experience in the design, development and release of enterprise applications
*Awareness of best practices to deliver performant, accessible and responsive solutions
Nice-to-haves
*Data visualisation using D3
*Continuous deployment
*Responsive UI design
*Knowledge of Git
*Familiarity with event based programming models
*Java, Vert.x, Node
Further to this, they are expected to build expert
skills in:
*Web services,
*TCP/IP Socketing,
*Spring,
*Hibernate.
Process Improvements
The Front End Developer is expected to provide advice to the Scrum Master on how processes and procedures may be improved to promote good coding practice amongst the team.
The client utilises an Agile development process. The Front End Developer is expected to be knowledgeable in the implementation of Agile development principles and be prepared to work with the Development Manager to adapt the core Agile approaches as required to meet business and quality objectives.
