Revenue Recognition Manager
Bracknell - London, South East, Thames Valley
McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with an International IT business who have operations worldwide and a significant presence here in the UK. With an expansion in their European business, they are now seeking a Revenue Recognition Manager with SOP 97-2 experience to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Reporting to the Finance Director, key duties include:
• Responsible for internal reporting, taking pro-active measures to resolve revenue issues and assisting with the enhancement of existing systems and processes.
• Validation and processing of orders for Software license, maintenance and Services including invoice creation, delivery fulfillment, revenue recognition and cash collection.
• Liaising with Sales regarding order issues and the impact on revenue and credit collections
• Maintaining the company’s financial policies and procedures by providing direction to finance or accounting managers.
• Ensuring financial statements, ledgers and records are maintained in accordance with US GAAP including SOP 97-2 compliance; IRS regulations; federal, state and local laws
• Overseeing all aspects of financial and accounting practices in revenues and accounts receivables across the EMEA region including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and the monthly close
• Overseeing the EMEA billings and collections for licenses, maintenance and services revenues.
• Overseeing the development and control over the budget/plan programme including direct and indirect expenses and allocations.
• Liaising and supporting the EMEA sales team concerning commercial issues on complex customer contracts
To be considered for the role you should ideally be a degree-educated Qualified or QBE Accountant with significant expertise in Revenue Recognition, SOP 97-2 rules and strong US GAAP experience. With high technical knowledge of financial statements, financial analysis techniques, cash management and capitalisation processes, you should also have thorough knowledge of SEC and IRS reporting requirements with prior experience working closely with software sales personnel. Due to the nature of the position, previous roles within the IT software sector would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of working in a Shared Service environment.
