Personal Tax Manager

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top6 UK Accountancy Firm who are looking for a Personal Tax Manager to join their growing team in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Tax Partner, the role would ideally suit a Qualified Accountant with ATT/CTA qualification (or equivalent) from another mid- to top-tier Accountancy Firm. You will be coaching & mentoring junior staff within the team and you must be able to demonstrate strong Personal Tax advisory expertise and knowledge. Key duties include:

• Reviewing complex tax returns within agreed internal quality standards (clients inc Non-Residents, Family estates, Trusts, Agricultural clients, Medical clients, Entrepreneurs & Inherited wealth)
• Managing a portfolio of complex HNW individuals and owner-managed business clients with personal and estate tax affairs
• Working on significant tax advisory projects with the Partner and developing tax efficient structures for client investments and wealth
• Liaising and meeting with clients regarding tax advisory matters on the phone and in person
• Assisting the Partner with growing the regional tax advisory function and client base across the Home Counties & East Midlands
• Providing general support to clients with personal tax queries including developing intelligent and creative solutions
• Ensuring that the quality of personal tax advisory work is done to agreed cost and timescales, and adhering to the Firm’s quality standards.

To be considered for the role, you should be seeking a move to a larger accountancy firm where wider responsibilities and a broader client base will be available to you, or already in a Top20 firm. Strong personal advisory experience is required for this role, as you will be helping to manage the portfolio of one of the Tax Partners. With strong internal team-work and external relationship building skills, you should also be able to help develop new and existing business, work well under pressure yet still deliver on time and budget.
