Corporate Tax Manager

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top6 UK Accountancy Firm who are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their growing Midlands team in Leicester. Reporting to the CT Director, the role would ideally suit a Qualified Accountant with CTA or ATT qualification (or equivalent) from another mid- to top-tier or Regional Accountancy practice. You will be coaching junior staff and you must be able to demonstrate strong Corporate Tax compliance expertise and knowledge. Key duties include:

• Providing solutions to technical issues and being able to demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge to supervise relevant project areas
• Working on complex tax compliance projects for leading OMB’s and Listed clients within the IT, Manufacturing, Construction, Food, Retail and other key business sectors (up to £100m turnovers)
• Supporting the senior management team and advisory colleagues with growing the team across the Region (no business development required in this position)
• Liaising with clients regarding corporate tax compliance matters on the phone and in person
• Overseeing and appraising a number of junior tax staff within the office
• Ensuring that the quality of corporate tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales, and adheres to the Firm’s quality standards.
• Liaising with the Tax Directors & Partners to ensure that work is completed within budget

To be considered for the role you should ideally be seeking a move to a larger accountancy firm where wider responsibilities and a broader client base will be made available, or from a Top4 firm looking for broader corporate tax experience. Previous staff management and working with complex tax cases is required, and this would ideally suit someone who doesn’t want to do business development or client pitches. With excellent team-work and relationship building skills, you should be able to help develop expertise within the team, work well under pressure yet still deliver on time and budget.
