Trading Development Underwriter
London (City) - London
Our client, an independent and highly regarded niche insurance company, is looking for a Trading Development Underwriter to join their London office. The main purpose of the role is to ensure growth of good quality business through underwriting in accordance with the underwriting guidelines up to confirmed authority limits. Insurance classes underwritten include: Combined Liability (EL/PL), Professional Indemnity, Commercial Combined (Property/BI/Miscellaneous) and CAR (Work-in-Progress). Specific responsibilities include: Developing existing and new product lines; Building and maintaining effective relationships with intermediaries to ensure a continuing flow of good quality enquiries and to contribute to the development of the account as well as Identifying new Schemes and Affinity Groups for potential sources of profitable new business. The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge and understanding of contractor related insurance underwriting, extensive understanding of distribution to Regional brokers and commercial awareness of new business/retention strategies.
