Head of Commercial Finance

Our client, a market leader in their field, are looking to recruit a new Head of Commercial Finance to join their thriving Finance team in Central London.

Purpose of role - To manage the Commercial Finance activities and contribute to the management of the Finance Directorate. This is a key role in delivering the organisation's aim to become increasingly self-funding by leveraging its capabilities and in delivering a range of financial projects to support the business as a whole..

Key responsibilities
Business-to-Business ("B2B") Lead on the financial management of B2B, including: - - Providing financial input into all new client bids, including analysis of potential costs and risks and advising on pricing.
- Ensuring that all finance aspects of taking on new clients or launching new services are effective and efficient.
- Relationship management of senior finance counterparts at our B2B clients.
- Ensuring that financial management of existing clients is performed to a high standard, including overseeing the production of management information for the client and for themselves, and that client cost forecasting, billing and cash management are carried out effectively.
- Developing and running the annual financial plan for the B2B directorate.
- Providing financial input on B2B for their Annual Report and Accounts.

Projects Oversee a diverse range of projects. The current portfolio includes:
- Upgrading their general ledger
- The retender of the Government Banking Service contract.
- In due course, implementation of new banking service providers in line with the results of the above retender. This will include, amongst other tasks, a complete change to the way that the organisation receives and pays out client money.
- Leading on the banking and finance aspects of the foreign currency payments service.

Risk policy owner To act as the owner of the Directorate's risk policy, ensuring that the policy is kept up to date, that the required risk MI is produced on time, that audit action points are cleared and to chair the Directorate's Risk and Controls meeting.

Management Manage a team of five, including two direct reports.

You will be a fully Qualified Accountant with a degree.
Our client is looking for a strong leader from the commercial sector.
You will have direct experience of leading Bids/Projects and will be assertive, yet in a professional manner, and possess strong negotiation skills.
