UK FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Our client is a London Stock Exchange listed company who is currently looking for a UK Financial Controller to support its continued growth in the UK I am looking for a talented and technically focused UK Financial Controller to join its UK head office team in Edinburgh.

JOB

This role will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

- Responsible for the financial control of all Group activities in the UK
- Managing the finances of current and future projects in Scotland
- Consulting for third parties and ongoing business development activities
- Responsible for the financial control, statutory and management of reporting, and management of project finance loans and grants
- Providing regular reports to and responding to queries from funders
- Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer
- Acting as a key member of the management team
- Assisting in the development of the group's policies and systems, as well as supporting the group's expansion into new markets
- Building and leading an Edinburgh-based team that will be responsible for all financial and administrative functions in the UK
- Preparing statutory accounts ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines, as well as completing VAT & company tax declarations in a timely and accurate manner
- Preparing & maintaining monthly management accounts for all UK entities, including reporting of actual budget with variance analysis on a monthly basis
- Preparing & managing payroll for UK staff
- Preparing annual budgets, including P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flows
- Providing analysis & decision support for the business, understanding the commercial implications of financial data and making recommendations
- Reviewing and improving all financial processes and procedures
- Liaising with the external auditors

YOU

You will be skilled and/or Qualified in the following areas:

- Knowledgeable of carrying out the above tasks
- Demonstrable experience working within an executive finance position
- Qualified Accountant with 5-8 years PQE
- Knowledge of financial systems (preferably Sage and/or Oracle)
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Commercially astute and able to work in context of the business
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers
- Ability to advise and make recommendations to senior management
