Personal Tax Manager

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top10 Accountancy Firm who are looking for Personal Tax Senior and Personal Tax Manager to join their growing team in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Tax Director, the role would ideally suit an ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA qualified from another mid- to top-tier or Regional Accountancy practice, and they would happily consider those people willing to relocate. You will be assisting with coaching junior staff, advising & reviewing technical tax work and you must be able to demonstrate strong Personal Tax expertise and knowledge. Key duties include:

• Providing general support to clients in providing tax advice and supporting Managers in the preparation of tax planning assignments within agreed timescales
• Producing well supported pieces of technical research on specific projects for any queries from internal and external clients.
• Providing solutions to technical issues and demonstrating a willingness to understand and recognise the breadth of possible technical issues
• Keeping up to date on technical developments, taking an active role in developing the technical knowledge of the team.
• Building good rapport with clients, with a clear understanding of client expectations and achieving high levels of client service
• Helping to manage a varied portfolio of HNWI’s, owner-managed business clients, entrepreneurs and wealthy land-owners
• Developing tax efficient structures for clients and helping them to minimise their potential tax liabilities
• Assisting the Senior Manager in overseeing a number of junior tax staff
• Ensuring that the quality of personal tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales, and adhering to the Firm’s quality standards.

To be considered for the role, you should ideally be seeking a move to a larger accountancy firm where wider responsibilities and a broader client base will be made available to you. Therefore, knowledge and experience within a private client tax role is required, ideally within an advisory capacity and dealing with complex tax issues. With excellent team working skills and relationship building skills, you should be able to help develop new and existing business, work well under pressure yet still deliver on time and budget.

On offer is a salary up to £40,000 for a Tax Senior and £55/60,000 for a Manager grade + excellent benefits including 25 days holiday, pension scheme and healthcare.
