Assistant Director of Development

The Profile:
Our client based in Peterborough is recruiting for an Assistant Director of Development. You will manage the delivery of the development programme and you will take an entrepreneurial, imaginative and innovative approach in pursuing all aspects of potential growth opportunities. Your primary focus will be to support both business objectives and customers’ needs and to achieve the organisation's ambition to grow.

The Duties:
•To take responsibility for all aspects of growth, through partnership and new initiatives, to achieve business objectives, actively seeking opportunities and translating these to develop a diverse and financially viable, deliverable development pipeline.
•To lead on the acquisition of open market land and delivery of major developments.
•Development and maintenance of key stakeholder relationships relating to and in support of the delivery of the role
•To develop and implement a clear strategy to actively promote and market the organisation’s development and services to other organisations and maximise the potential for commercial business growth opportunities
•To implement strategies to ensure that the management of the organisation’s assets meet the changing needs of customer aspirations whilst meeting the broader business objectives
•To maximise the potential for new Business opportunities and funding streams, over and above traditional grants and funding sources, including institutional investment and the resourceful use of assets to help meet our broader objectives
•To ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved in relation to new build homes and sales and lettings processes
•The develop excellent internal working relationships with all areas of the business
•To manage a network of excellent relationships within the organisation and also externally including Landowners, Developers, House builders, Local Authorities, Housing Associations and not- for- profit partners

The Person:
•Able to demonstrate first class people and organisational skills – must be able to win the support of ideas internally and externally and utilise the available people resources effectively in the implementation of strategies and plans
•Must be a self-motivated self-starter, but able to work collaboratively with colleagues to be able to be an effective team player
•Proven abilities to lead the delivery of major complex development projects.
•Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
•Ability to think strategically and creatively producing innovative solutions to complex commercial problems and opportunities
•Effective leader of people able to establish goals and to motivate and lead a team to meet performance goals and standards
