Finance Manager (Processes & Controls)

Working alongside a highly renowned FMCG business with multiple consumer brands, our client is looking to recruit a Qualified Financial Accounting & Controls/Policies Specialist who can ensure all financial transactions, policies, procedures and systems comply with UK legal and regulatory requirements.

• Working with the company’s systems and processes to provide objective advice to the business to maximise compliance with internal controls and minimise fraud and losses
• Creating and maintaining an internal control environment that complies with internal policies and practices.
• Managing the financial reporting process for all legal entities in the UK & Ireland including maintaining up-to-date Company Secretarial records.
• Managing all aspects of tax reporting, tax accounting and tax planning including coordination of period-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities.
• Managing working capital, currency processes (including general forecasting and reporting) and the identification and mitigation of risks.
• Planning future working capital and cash requirements, collaborating with stakeholders across the business.
• Administration of the pensions and insurance processes for the UK business.
• Identification and timely resolution of complex accounting matters
• Ensuring compliance to local GAAP, statutory and other local legal requirements
• Point of contact for, and planning of, the year-end and other audit processes with internal and external auditors
• Liaising with specialist teams (Treasury, Tax, and Currency Centres) ensuring compliance with all related audit requirements.
• Creating a secure internal control environment including segregation of duties, providing leadership and expertise in these areas
• Managing the accounting systems to ensure compliance with internal requirements and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
• Identifying and communicating risks & opportunities which may affect the financial statements and forecasts.

To be considered for the role you should be a degree-educated and fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) either from a similar role in Industry, or looking for a first move out of Practice. With proven general accounting and financial controls/governance experience, a strong working knowledge of UK & US GAAP and current accounting standards is required. Expertise in working capital, cash management and managing balance sheet risk would also be a distinct advantage for this position.
