Financial Controller (Interim Role)

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with an Int'l business who are looking to recruit a Divisional Controller for one of their £100m+ business units in the Stoke-on-Trent/Ashbourne (A52) area. Managing a team of 3 in Finance, key duties include:

• Ownership of the divisions month-end reporting process and liaising with Group Finance adhering to strict deadlines
• Ensuring tight internal controls and financial policies are adhered to around production & work-flow processes
• Implementing any new controls & procedures across all ledgers and manufacturing processes to mitigate risk
• Assisting with system & financial controls for a new production facility, ensuring correct tracking of materials and goods in/out
• Post month-end close, producing accurate forecasts for the following month and quarter, along with an Executive Pack and detailed KPI’s
• Preparing data and financial analysis for the GM’s monthly Business Review meeting with Group
• Preparation of detailed costing, production & performance analysis from the previous month for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
• Constant updating of budgets and re-forecasting activities
• Ensuring the finance team accurately maintain the Ledgers and are responsible for data integrity
• Supporting the Sales Director with customer incentive plans/promotions & warranty deals for all International markets (EMEA and US)
• Supporting the SLT with new business cases and financial feasibility of non-standard sales requests
• Analysing/modelling potential new customer sales requests, highlighting the positive/negative P&L impact to the Sales team
• Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, acting as a strong No 2 to the General Manager

To be considered for this 6-7 month Interim role (which may be a permanent opportunity in the future), you should be a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Finance Manager or Controller with strong Controls & Accounting experience from a fast-paced and challenging environment. With proven reporting and business analysis skills too, you should have excellent personal presentation, credibility and gravitas to work with a Senior Leadership Team and ideally come from a production, manufacturing, engineering or similar heavy-industry environment. Experience of supporting non-finance managers is critical, as are strong staff management skills and an analytical mindset to help the management team drive the business forward.

On offer is a base salary to £65,000 (pro-rata for the contract) + benefits to include 25 days holiday, company pension and healthcare schemes.
