This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focussed professional with solid FMCG experience to join the Senior Management Team of a highly successful and expanding business which trades internationally.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the purpose of this role is to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

The key market for our clients products are within food processing, therefore the successful candidate will have a solid demonstrable track record winning and retaining large national and international contracts within this sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To track Product Lifecycles for all of the company's products, and (working closely with Sales, Technical, Operations and Finance) to develop, communicate and monitor, strategies which appropriate to each stage
To maintain and manage the New Product Development portfolio for the business
To coordinate the activities involved with bringing new products to market, including, but not limited to: Product Registrations, the determination of Regulatory Compliance requirements, the development of Labels & Packaging,
To liaise with both internal and external Sales and Marketing resources to ensure the development and execution of Marketing Plans which meet the needs of the business
To directly undertake Sales to large accounts during the 'Introduction' Phase of products to new Product-Markets
To manage Sales personnel involved with sales during the 'Introduction' Phase of products to new Product-Markets
To define and to manage strategies aimed at developing the Company's Brands
To undertake Sales to and to Manage all Own Label Accounts
To identify opportunities for new business through market research, including: desktop research, attendance at Trade Shows and related events, reviewing of industry and market publications
To stay close to customer needs by obtaining regular feedback and insights from the sales team and through
To protects organisation's value by keeping information confidential.
To update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Solid senior level experience with FMCG organisations in Sales, and Marketing and/or Business Development Roles
Product Management and Category Management experience
A verifiable track record of success in sales to large corporate buyers

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
To be based within a reasonable commute from the Scottish Borders.
To manage a small team of support staff
Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally
