McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a highly regarded Corporate Advisory business who are now looking to recruit a Business Development Manager/Project Manager to join their growing team in Berkshire. The firm has a strong reputation across the UK for providing services including M&A, Corporate Advisory, MBO/MBIs to a range of SME and multi-national clients. You will be required to help set the strategic direction of a project, interact with clients and manage internal teams to ensure project completion. Key duties include:

• Establish yourself as a trusted advisor with all clients
• Possess a working knowledge of the project, the client’s business and requirements of the vendor
• Thorough preparation for all meetings throughout the project preparatory phases
• Lead and facilitate meetings between vendor (client) and potential purchasers
• Undertake all associated client/prospective acquirer follow up notes after meetings
• Help parties concerned explore acceptable and appropriate deal structures
• Communicate effectively between clients, prospective acquirers and advisors, in particular, relaying all relevant offers and responses to those concerned
• Negotiate an acceptable commercial deal structure position between vendor and purchaser and where possible negotiate the successful sale, or advise on an alternative solution
• Liaise with the Business Analysis team on progress of negotiations and project developments
• Gain a good understanding of the client’s financial performance, working closely with the Finance team to agree the basis for the future Business Plan
• Ensure all key performance objectives are met, and exceeded where possible
• Set the strategic direction of the project from the outset, including the provision of appropriate and necessary resource to achieve the best results

To be considered for the role you should have strong influencing and persuasive skills (ideally some client facing or Sales skills), have a commercial mind set and be an excellent negotiator with a strong presentation style. A background in Finance/Accounting would be highly desirable, as you will need to interpret and confidently discuss financial information - in particular Forecasting, Statutory and Management accounts. You should also be an excellent rapport builder, capable leader and facilitator of meetings who has an accurate, thorough and detailed approach to work.

On offer is a base salary to £50,000 + £4,500 car allowance + significant commission with benefits to include company pension, healthcare and 23 days holidays.
