UK Financial Controller

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with an Int’l business who are looking to recruit a hands-on UK Financial Controller for their Berkshire based head office. Reporting to the Finance Director and supervising a large team, you will be responsible for running the month-end financial process, statutory accounting, budgeting & forecasting, implementing new financial controls and revenue recognition reviews. Key duties include:

• Ownership of the UK financial reporting process and ensuring integrity of data within the financial systems
• Maintaining and implementing a strong UK financial controls environment.
• Ownership and management of the Internal and External Audits
• Responsible for the monthly Group reporting process
• Ensuring all Group Accounting Policies are adhered too including detailed IFRS accounting.
• Responsible for long term contract revenue recognition reviews and their related accounting
• Weekly cash flow forecasting, currency monitoring and adhering to the internal hedging strategy.
• Customer credit risk management.
• Dealing with sales commission calculations and all related processing and reporting.
• Main point of contact for key customers and suppliers on cash flow and contractual matters.
• Payroll & expenses for the UK business, and UK VAT control and reporting.
• Managing a team of up to 10 staff including appraisals and performance management

To be considered for the role, you should be a degree-educated and fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Financial Controller with international experience in a fast-paced and challenging environment with proven technical accounting skills and reporting/business analysis skills. With excellent personal presentation and gravitas to work with a Board of Directors, you should also have detailed IFRS knowledge including revenue recognition and be able to manage large and diverse teams. Ideally from another large IT/Hi-tech business, you should have excellent financial problem-solving skills, be well organised/methodical with a commercial mind set and be able to influence others.
