Senior Internal Auditor

As the Senior Internal Auditor you will have the opportunity to develop your career in Internal Audit and will be responsible for undertaking audits, reporting findings including making recommendations to address areas of non-compliance and assist line management in understanding areas and aspects of non-conformance.

You will ensure all operations within the business conform to company policies and procedures through the completion of audits - Provide independent and objective reasonable assurance in respect of the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Further you will provide consulting services in order to support and facilitate business and process owners in improving their management of financial, compliance and business risks.

The role requires working independently and in collaboration with the operating company’s line management to ensure full understanding of audit findings.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Advice and Guidance
Provide interpretation and guidance to line management on financial and audit management issues and controls

Audit
Deploy/undertake audit plans and schedules for a specified area of business or area of audit, summarise and report findings, in order to identify areas of non-compliance and ensure full financial compliance with relevant internal/external rules and regulations and reduce fraud risk to a level accepted by management.
Support business and process owners in the identification of business inefficiencies and related causes.
Work with line managers to ensure they have a full and complete understanding and acceptance of areas of audit non-conformance.
Performance Improvement
Identify areas of performance improvement, challenge management on present performance and promote acceptance of management, such that the standards are improved.

Performance monitoring
Support business and process owners in establishing and managing compliance controls and measures to monitor performance, amend and/or create new measures to ensure that as the business develops, relevant controls are in place.

Relationships
Develop and maintain key relationship within the customer base, related departments and ensure co-ordination of activities.

Controls
Review areas of the business, as specified, to ensure adequacy of internal controls in order to ensure adherence to compliance and competition issues
New business development (limited).
Support the Head of Internal Audit and Internal Audit Manager to identify opportunities for increasing the scope and quality of services delivered and contribute to achieving this.

Skills & Experience
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, as well as one other European language is desirable.
Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA etc.) with significant SOX experience is essential
Advisory experience for example in relation to SAO certifications, AB&C, data analytics or other is an advantage but not essential.
