My client is a commercially driven and growing charitable organisation based in Central London.

They are recruiting a Finance Director to lead their finance team and report directly through to the Chief Executive.

The Finance Director takes responsibility for the financial success of the organisation and will support its strategic objectives, ensuring that the financial resources are effectively and efficiently deployed and support commercial activity.


Particular to this post:
1. Contribute to successful delivery of the organisation's strategic priorities and annual business objectives by providing an accurate and timely finance service.
2. Assessing and managing identified strategic opportunities which can be developed as commercial activity for the organisation, including the use of the IP, mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
3. Ensure that the CEO is appraised of key financial issues that need to be discussed with management and the relevant Board/Committee.
4. Support the annual audit process in conjunction with the appointed auditors to ensure all required information is available, support the production of the statutory accounts and support any associated activities such as the filing of returns.
5. Effectively manage and report on the procurement of goods and services so that all programmes are delivered to acceptable standards on time, to budget and meet the required specification(s)/objective(s).
6. Manage activities/tasks in accordance with the agreed project plan to ensure delivery on time and to budget.
7. Manage, support and motivate allocated staff to successfully deliver activities/tasks.
8. Ensure the timely delivery of reporting management information, including KPIs and management accounts.
9. Other duties and/or projects as may reasonably be requested by the CEO.


You will be a fully qualified CCAB Accountant (or equivalent) with the required level of experience expected with such a role.
- You will have experience of either working in both the charity and private sector's, or the private sector
- You will have experience of managing procurement within a contracting environment
- Strong VAT experience is essential
- Commercial experience of generating new Income streams would be advantageous
- Demonstrable experience of working with senior executives i.e. CEO, Trustees, Board members and SMT, is essential
