Director of Internal Audit

My client is a large Central Government organisation who are looking to recruit a full qualified Interim Director of Internal Audit. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with extensive Local or Central Government Audit experience.

Key Deliverables:

*The Internal Audit Director (IAD) is responsible for the Internal Audit Strategy and providing a risk-based internal audit service across the organisation and to act as the interface with ExCom members and Board Committees
*The primary role is to provide the Chief Executive with advice and opinions on the overall adequacy and effectiveness the organisation framework of governance, risk management and control
*The role includes personal involvement in special investigations which are complex, large scale and/or sensitive
*The IAD will also be part of the strategic leadership of Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) in developing the GIAA so it achieves its vision of a quality service provider such that the organisation can integrate with it fully at a later date with an improved service offering

Person Specification:

*CCAB qualified or equivalent
*Experience of leading large scale audit teams at board level
*Ability to come across as knowledgeable and credible at senior management and board level
*Extensive experience at Central or Local Government level
