CERTIFICATION LEADER EUROPE CHELTENHAM £55-65k

My client is a market leading manufacturer of avionics products who, due to continued and sustained growth, are looking for a Certification Leader to join them on a permanent basis. Ideal candidates will be in a similar role at an Avionic/Aerospace/Defence Company although Candidates from other Safety Critical industries will also be considered. You will have strong experience of Avionics or Electronic products.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for overseeing all aspects of product certification for the Certification Team. This person will steer future technology roadmaps by participating in technology and methodology trade studies, as well as be involved in research and development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Certification team in across several business units, including the hiring and developing the certification staff.

Daily Activities:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, program objectives, and process compliance. In addition, he/she will:
-Promote a culture of certification engagement across the organization which emphasizes shared responsibility in achieving certification
-Assist in determining certification strategy and certification basis of products Create a competitive advantage by developing project certification strategies which reduce project risk and yield first pass certification success
-Capture new business opportunities by developing certification approaches to meet customer needs, and generating cost estimates for certification support
-Provide technical leadership and direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programmes and personnel, including approval/sign-off of Certification documentation.
-Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
-Lead the Certification Team to successful certification outcomes by; -
-Setting the certification strategies for projects;
-Coordinating certification support from the certification team with internal and external customers;

Qualification/Experience
-Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
-Significant years of experience in an engineering position
-Experience in certifying aircraft systems using DO-254, DO-178B and ARP 4754 guidelines
-Experience leading teams in an aviation environment
-Strong comprehension of industry regulations to include CS21 & CS25
