Research Consultant - SON/GSM/LTE
Dublin - Ireland
Principal SON/LTE R&D Expert - 6 month contract, Dublin
Our customer is a world class leading in telecommunications who invest £billions each year into research and innovation. They are looking for an expert on SON (Self Optimising Networks) and GSM/LTE to join their research and development centre in Dublin, Ireland for a 6 month project.
You will be part of a highly innovative team who regularly challenge the telecoms status quo; working with other telecom business, universities and research centres.
As a Principal SON Expert, you will be responsible for;
*Developing next-generation algorithms in the area of SON (Self Organising Networks)
*Direct and lead SON research at an advanced level, working with both technical and non-technical staff
*Document and define brand new SON system needs and strategy based on both market requirements and technical developments
*Undertake systems analysis of SON cases for LTE, LTE-Advanced, UMTS or GSM
*Characterise SON behaviour of modules on both live and lab environments
*Undertake client facing presentations
*Contribute at a key level to developing strategies for products
Our customer is looking for the following experience;
*Research background with either a Masters Degree or Ph.D qualification in a related field
*8 to 10 years in radio network optimisation, planning and troubleshooting of either LTE or UMTS networks
*Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Matlab
*Experience with radio propagation planning, optimization of coverage and capacity, KPIs analysis, tuning of RAN configuration parameters, etc.
*Knowledge of the mechanisms and algorithms of SON features, such as ANR, CCO, etc.
*Knowledge of RF planning and optimization tools, drive test measurement tools, and service assurance tools.
