Pankaboard Oy is a Finnish company which employs 160 people with an annual turnover of €75m and is a world leader in high thickness folding boxboards, used in packaging applications (food, luxury beverage, healthcare, etc.) as well as being a significant supplier of uncoated specialty boards and ground wood boards for special end uses and applications.

The UK is a key strategic growth market for Pankaboard and the Technical Service Manager position is a new role, based in the UK, (covering UK, Benelux, France, Spain with occasional travel to the Americas), created in order to provide a speedy and proactive service to customers in terms of problem resolution, education and product development with duties and responsibilities as follows:

• To provide technical service / assistance / support for Pankaboard customers throughout the specified geography in relation to:

- Problem solving and claim handling
- Training
- Preventive consultation
- Technical reviews

• To solve customer problems in cooperation with the customers related to Pankaboard products.

• To manage, whilst working to reduce, customer claims for the beginning to the end of the process.

• To contribute to product development processes with the production team and the customer.

• To produce information in relation to the technical needs of the brand owners and the customers.

• To provide product training for customers as well as in house training for sales staff.

• To participate in ad hoc special projects both in the UK and other geographies as required.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education with relevant experience, gained in an
engineering/ technical service discipline, in a carton board related industry e.g. carton board printer, carton board producer, paper/board merchant. He/she will be customer focused and well-connected within the industry with willingness to travel and work in a global team and the ability to produce tangible solutions for customers.
