Commercial Finance Manager

McGinnis Loy Associates are proud to be working with one of the largest and most renowned FMCG businesses in the UK. With highly recognisable consumer brands, they are looking to strengthen their Finance Leadership team by recruiting a talented Commercial Finance Manager who can provide both financial analysis across functions and key business support to the UK Leadership team.

• Working with the FD and non-finance Directors (Sales/Marketing) to ensure appropriate analysis and review is developed in support of achieving overall business goals and future growth.
• Challenging activities related to the preparation of financial plans and estimates, analysing all financial performance metrics in relation to UK commercial operations
• Working with the Sales & Marketing Directors bringing strong business acumen and initiative to help shape the strategic direction and implementation of activities for the UK business
• Identifying both internal & external risks to support the UK Leadership team from a brand and market channel perspective
• Leading the financial aspects of the future planning process, ensuring accurate forecasts and budgets for the business are in place and challenging managers in Business Review Meetings
• Leading project teams to evaluate, recommend and implement new management initiatives (eg new product launches, promotional activities, capital projects)
• Taking ownership of the preparation and review of the annual operating plan for the UK
• Supervising a team of 7 staff - Qualified and part-qualified financial analysts, including any training and coaching needs
• Acting as a stand-in for the UK Finance Director as required in UK Senior Management meetings
• Working with central finance to support financial controls, reviewing processes and implementing changes
• Ad-hoc analysis for the Sales & Marketing Director and Finance Director

To be considered for the role, you should be a Qualified Commercial Finance/FP&A Manager with proven business analysis and relationship-building skills, who has strong customer focus and the ability to negotiate and influence at the highest levels. Previous experience of supporting non-finance managers is critical, as is strong business acumen and an analytical mindset to help drive the business forward. You should also be a strong team manager with competent Excel and modelling skills with a can-do, proactive and collaborative attitude with aspirations to become an FD in future years.
