The Company

Pan European group company, in the top ten laboratories developing and selling Phytoterapic products in the French Nutraceutical market – pharmacies and specialty stores. The products are of natural origin from plants. The company’s approach to growth is based on innovation and the proximity of its clients. It has advanced steadily over several years and now requires maximising this growth and profitability within its purchasing & supply activities.

The role

To secure and setup "Responsible Sourcing" on tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers, predominantly in the UK, USA and France. The majority of supplier contracts are negotiated in English in both spoken and written formats but with the French language being a major communication format in the company.
The company is looking for someone to secure its purchase & supply sources within a framework of long term contracts, with a responsible approach to ecological and social needs
You will be responsible for all of the company’s purchase & supply actives, assisted by a Buyer and report to the Supply-Chain Director

Key responsibilities:-

- Manage €15m annual sourcing contracts
- To manage a planned growth to achieve €20 million ‘Buy’ over the foreseeable future.
- Strengthen the purchase & supply division
- Negotiate price-quality-time limits
- Achieve substantial savings via tendering and resulting contracts.
- Participate and contribute to quality audits of suppliers.
- Contribute to the company’s innovation for the specification of new products
- Liaise with RD/marketing/sales divisions regarding new products proposed by suppliers
- Organise and improve the reliability of the sourcing of packs, ingredients and packaging.
- Manage contracts for transport and logistics service providers.
- Instigate, manage and report KPIs for purchase and supply

The successful candidate

- 5+ years experience in a purchase & supply environment preferably on food, cosmetics and or health products sold ‘Over the Counter’ (OTC).
- Knowledge of the health sector and the products of the type ‘OTC’ distributed in Pharmacy or in specialised networks store type of dietetics.
- Knowledge of ISO 22716 (cosmetic), ISO 22000 (agro-food) or ISO 26000 (social responsibility) is required.
- English as a first language both written and spoken and ability to communicate in French
