My Public Sector client is looking for a Commercial/Contracts and SRM Director to run a transformation piece across the business, historically the organisation has not operated commercially, were non-strategic and did not recognise the real value of SRM. Over the last 4yrs 2.5 billion worth of contracts have been re- let across multiple spend areas (predominantly IT, Property and CAPEX), taking 70million out of the total cost base. Therefore the focus is now on driving innovation and achieving SRM excellence, demonstrating value for money and service level improvement. They are also looking at creating a trading arm to feed into the organisation and provide a revenue stream, adding an entirely new dimension to the way the organisation operates.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of delivering SRM Excellence and contracts management on a large scale transformation programme within a commercial/private sector organisation, be an expert in managing multi billion pound contracts effectively to ensure service levels are improved across the business in an environment where delivery is paramount. Candidates from a consultancy background (eg big 4) ideally who have worked on high value IT and property contracts within multi-disciplined private sector/commercial clients would be a good fit for this role.
