Senior Procurement Specialist
North London - Home Based
My client, a rapidly growing private equity backed leader in Medical/Pharmaceutical Research, which covers 45 sites globally, is looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage global spend for the UK, US and across Europe. You will be a self-starter and have the drive and energy this role requires to devise a long term strategy ensuring delivery of the aggressive cost savings that align with the business core objectives across the group. The business has grown rapidly to date through acquisition and now needs a procurement specialist to support and implement process, best practice and work towards a more collaborative approach to purchasing. This will be a relatively Greenfield role for this part of the group, therefore you will require the ability to work autonomously. This role also provides career development/progression as it will naturally evolve into a Head of position, and you will hire supporting team members to help develop the function as it grows. Spend areas include - Instruments, Lab Services, Chemicals, Plastics, Freight and warehousing therefore a background in this area of procurement or sourcing would be desirable but not essential.
Key areas -
* Must be enthusiastic and extremely driven
* CIPS qualified professional
* Experience of Greenfield procurement
* Procurement in a Science/Medical Research organisation
* Proven track record of supplier and contract negotiation
* Knowledge of contract and commercial law
* Strong personality and gravitas
* Ability to communicate at all levels
* This role requires travel to the global sites
