Technical Director

FINTEC recruit is looking to recruit a Technical Director for our Civil Engineering client based in Guildford. This is a permanent position, with a salary range of £65k - £130k, as well as incorporating an attractive benefits package. This opportunity is in our client's Geotechnical Engineering team. You will lead a range of Geotechnical design projects primarily in London and the UK south-east. The role will focus on underground structures and space where a unique blend of skills and specialist experience is necessary.



Role and Responsibilities:

As a Technical Director your responsibilities will include the following:-

Ensuring competency in the geotechnical design of retaining walls, ground movement assessments, soil structure interactions, piles, deep foundations for large developments, deep excavations for commercial basements, underground space for rail, utility shafts and other uses along with a detailed knowledge of geotechnical construction techniques
*

Preparing technical and commercial bids, winning work, project management and consistently delivering significant projects to program and budget with commercially astuteness
*

Taking ownership of multiple projects and managing risk, ensuring financial, commercial and contractual compliance



The ideal candidate for the Technical Director role will have:-

*

A degree (minimum 2:1) in Civil Engineering or similar
*

Significant and the relevant UK project geotechnical design engineering experience
*

A Chartered membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or appropriate professional body
*

Relevant knowledge of design for linear assets in the rail and highways sector
*

Sound knowledge of all applicable codes of practice, design standards and health and safety regulations
*

Ability to plan, organise and manage resources, provide leadership, mentor and motivate a team
*

Excellent communication and Networking skills
