Applications Architect - £450 - £550 day rate
My client is a service and solution partner who are working with the latest cutting edge technologies that are emerging in the market. The company focuses on end to end consulting enabling its customers to drive value from their Devops and cloud fields.
The role involves working closely with the product managers and engineering teams to deliver Openstack cloud solutions which integrate into the companies customers cloud strategies
Technical Skills:
* Experienced software architect with experience in Microservices or SOA architecture patterns
* Key architecture patterns for cloud - Service Registration/Discovery/ Circuit Breaker / CQRS etc
* Polyglot approach to development tools
* Familiarity with container technology (Docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes/Mesos) and PAAS
* Agile Dev methodologies
* Ability to quickly generate proof of concept (working code) and prototype to prove architecture
* Demonstrated knowledge of component based design
* Experience in Murano and Heat Templates is desirable
People Skills:
* Facilitate and mentor teams in understanding value/need for cloud readiness initiative and value of standard patterns
* Influence stakeholders
Responsibilities:
* Facilitate development teams in understanding and applying cloud design patterns to existing code base
* Managing governance of software deliverables for adherence to defined architecture
* Apply strategies for identification and management and removal of technical debt in legacy applications
* Ensure characteristics/non-functional requirements are not negatively affected by migration to cloud
Role would be working on their customer sites and could be based remotely if they are happy with a couple of weeks in Dublin for on-boarding and then 50% travel to Germany to work with the customer.
6 month initial contract with a good chance of extention.
