Finance Director

Reporting directly to the Board and positioned within the senior management team, the role will also require the successful candidate to manage a small finance/admin team.

My client are looking for a leader who can inspire the team on a day to day and as the CEO will not be there every day, someone who is comfortable with, indeed seeks out, opportunities to get involved in key contract negotiations with important customers. This is a diverse, challenging, and extremely interesting high profile opportunity.

Key technical responsibilities:
- Direct and control finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed and so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
- Contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
- Develop and control the company's annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to the company's managers and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of the company's financial/management accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
- Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company.
- Monitor external contracts/services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value.
- Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial/legal obligations.

The current group has 5 companies (opportunity to reduce this by consolidation).
Key short-term projects include streamlining existing systems and implementing a billing system for monthly recurring revenue.



The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant who has previously working in a high growth SME or perhaps worked for a larger corporate brand.

They will be able to demonstrate -
- Excellent communication skills - with the board, across the business as a whole and with shareholders and the outside world.
- Commerciality and keen to gain in-depth understanding of the business, its markets and customers
-The ability to support and challenge the CEO.
- Possess up to date exposure of systems implementation/improvement.

This is a permanent role with a salary ideally up to £65k doe. This is a small SME so there are a limited range of additional benefits but they're able to offer stock options so that you are able to benefit from the growth of the business.
