Finance Manager
City of London - London
A leading commercial bank are seeking two dynamic Finance Managers for 12 month contracts. This role will support the reporting developments team.
The role as a Finance Manager will be to manage all aspects of the external financial reporting process focussed on Accounting and Technical developments. They will need to work closely with Accounting Policy to scope the comparative requirements, determine presentation (including drafting disclosures), researching and developing a compliance checklist; drafting policy papers for governance approval.
They seek qualified accountants with the ability to work independently and at least one should have some project management skills/experience.
The roles will involve engaging with the business and further stakeholders to meet new requirements from a business model and systems perspective. They will help to deliver the external financial statements of the group within strict deadlines in accordance with reporting requirements.
The person they seek must have excellent communication skills in order to lead in communication, organisational feedback, training and preparation with regard to accounting changes e.g. new standards, best practice developments etc.
Requirements of the role:
* Relevant financial reporting experience with a large institution
* Professional qualification; ACCA or equivalent.
* Ideally have experience working within a large accounting firm.
* Previous experience working on a change project is ideal.
* In depth knowledge of IFRSs and awareness of other relevant regulatory and best practice reporting issues (such as FINREP and EDTF)
* Ability to business partner with subject matter experts in risk and other finance teams on external disclosure requirements.
* Ability to communicate complex financial issues confidently to management and other senior stakeholders.
* Relevant experience within the Financial Services sector
