Our client is a fast growing and revolutionary online technology business who are used by millions of customers every year, changing and improving the way they live their lives. Based in Central London, the business is at an exciting phase in its lifecycle having doubled in size last year, achieved profitability and appointed very high profile investors to help accelerate their ambitious domestic and international expansion plans.

To support and facilitate this growth, the business is now looking to strengthen its senior management team by recruiting a high calibre Group Financial Controller. Reporting into the CFO and working closely with the board, you will be tasked with transforming the accounting, reporting and internal controls enabling the business to continue to grow and to prepare for a potential event in the coming years.

Key responsibilities will include:



* Building a "best in class" financial control and accounting function that is both fit for purpose now, and as the business continues to rapidly expand



* Proactive management, development and ongoing motivation of the team, ensuring appropriate structures are in place to service the business, maintain tight controls, drive continuous improvement, best practice, efficiency and career development

* Managing all statutory, financial and management reporting, to agreed deadlines and with full analysis and insight, and ensure that all financial controls are maintained at the highest levels

* Full accountability for ensuring robust corporate governance and that the company complies with all regulator
* requirements and developing close working relationships with tax, treasury and legal departments
* Playing an active part in key ad hoc projects across group finance including any systems implementation/upgrade and preparing for the potential event

The successful candidate will be a technically strong and entrepreneurially-minded qualified accountant with a demonstrable track record of working in a fast paced, team oriented environment. A confident and proactive self-starter, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and have the credibility and gravitas to challenge and push back. Experience of working in a listed environment is also essential

You will be a proven leader who has built and developed a finance function. Equally as important are a "shirt sleeves" mentality, a willingness to get into the detail and a strong analytical, problem solving mind set. The successful candidate will enjoy creating and operating within a change oriented, highly commercial and truly collaborative environment.

This role will initially involve a high level of international travel, but this will significantly reduce after the first three months.
