Business Analyst

Reporting to the Managing Director of this specialist Lloyd’s broker, the Business Analyst will be responsible for: evaluating complex risks and assessing the potential financial consequences of those risks; ensuring premium rates are set accurately and the adequate funds exist to meet claims; carrying out performance reviews of contracts and analysing the data as well as carrying out pricing reviews. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Using data and mathematical modelling techniques and statistical concepts; Data verification; Determining probability, assessing and monitoring risk; Analysing reports and creating suggestions for strategic and operational improvements; Analysing statistical data in order to make calculations; Preparing presentations, reports, valuations and quarterly updates; Presenting reports and explaining their implications to managers; Assisting with audits, internal and external and Reviewing processes. In addition to IT Skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook as well as Insurance specialised systems, the successful candidate will have excellent numeracy skills; Research, analytical and problem-solving ability and a deep understanding of economics and of the legislation relating to the Insurance market.
