Head of Quality - Non-Food

With over 200 stores in the UK this business is looking to recruit within their senior leadership team within Quality & Technical in their Home, Furniture, Outdoor & Leisure category.

This role will be responsible for leading the Quality team in the UK in delivery of the safety, legality and integrity across all own-brand products.

Here will be fully accountability of the delivery of safe, legal products that meet quality requirements and are delivered in line with critical path.

Your responsibilities include-

* Help formulate the strategy of Quality within the business and to implement changes
* Oversee supplier performance & getting new businesses on board whilst monitoring the development new and existing suppliers.
* To making sure that new product development is delivered safely & legally
* Liaising with senior trading teams & other stakeholders to provide proactive guidance and challenge across all own brand activity.
* Having a clearly defined risk based decision framework to ensure an effective supplier selection, monitoring and development is in place.
* Decreasing Incident numbers (withdrawals, recalls, customer and enforcement issues)
* Regular communication with the Global Sourcing Office, Trading Standards & Compliance
* You will have regular contact with Retail, PR, External regulatory and enforcement agencies Industry trade bodies & Laboratory Partners.



To be successful you will have-

* Extensive Quality experience from a non-food, furniture, electrical or homewares background
* Led a high performing team, by setting clear direction, coaching and provide clear objectives for team in the UK.
* Has experience within working in the Far-East form a sourcing and supplier perspective.
* This individual should be able to implement change to provide a more efficient way of working, challenging the status quo, and sharing best practice.
* Ideally to have a graduate calibre in relevant science (E.g. Chemistry, Material science,) or a closely related discipline.
* understanding of HACCP and FMEA Advanced
* From a quality perspective that you have knowledge of the safety, legal, compliance, compositional and quality aspects across all ranges.
