Our client, a leading global logistics firm based in Essen, are looking for big data engineers, as their big data space continues to expand at a rapid rate.

The client believes the ideal candidate will have the following expertise:

* Industry experience working with large data sets and complex IT environments
* Experience in the Hadoop eco-system
* Experience in use of spark and kafka
* Experience with relational databases
* Fluent in English language

The role will involve the following:

* Supporting a team of data experts in planning, designing and implementing their complex infrastructure
* Co-operating with multi-dimensional, cross-functional teams
* Working both as a team and as an individual to implement own ideas and strategies
* Maintain consistent focus on long term, large scale projects
