This established and rapidly expanding property business owns a successful portfolio of properties across the UK plus provides ancillary services across its investments. It also enjoys a high level of success in acquiring additional properties and land for future development projects. With an ambitious investment strategy, an impressive Exec team and a clarity of vision, this organisation is increasing its UK footprint at an enviable rate.

As part of an ongoing company-wide transformation agenda the new role of Deputy Finance Director has been created. As the right hand person to the Group Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in the continued success of this business.

The role includes:

* Key member of the Group Leadership Team; supporting the Board; driving insightful analysis across the management team to support improved decision making; enhancing the risk transparency agenda
* Via a team of c40 individuals, own the delivery of Group financial management and statutory reporting (internal/external), including ownership of financial operations, transactional accounting and finance systems
* Manage the centralised budgeting, planning & forecasting mechanism
* Ensure a 'right first time' financial controls environment, together with transparent cash-flow management whilst managing external relationships, i.e. external auditors
* Facilitating the ongoing journey of improving commercial thinking across the organisation
* Chair the group Investment Review Panel for approval of investment business cases

The preferred candidate will:

* Be an experienced finance professional, with proven ability of leading and developing sizeable finance teams of varying ability and levels
* Exhibit in-depth and up to date technical accounting knowledge
* Have the ability to see beyond finance and able to communicate a simple message to non-finance stakeholders
* Demonstrate strong experience of consolidation systems and consolidation, probably through experience in working at a group level
* Have worked across an organisation that has experienced change, having added value to that process
* Be adept at driving change across processes, controls, systems and behaviours and operate with a natural sense of rigour and compliance
* Exude gravitas and credibility and operate with a high degree of emotional intelligence, allowing you to operate easily across the senior management team
* Display genuine common sense combined with wider appreciation of business
* Good working knowledge of VAT and experience overseeing a payroll function would be an advantage
