Head of Materials Control for vehicle manufacturing facility in fast expanding company
The Role
As Head of Materials Control, you will be responsible for leading the material control and warehouse functions for this new purpose built manufacturing facility. With full responsibility to deliver the effective and efficient materials availability and flow functions, your responsibilities will include:
* provide leadership / direction to the managers of materials and warehouse teams
* responsibility for operational budget and meeting annual cost targets
* supply requirement patterns / flow of materials to manufacturing workstations
* effectiveness of materials delivery to meet project delivery commitments / KPIs
* working closely with supplier quality functions to ensure effective procedures / systems
* deliver effective inbound logistics including supplier packaging / transportation etc.
* coach / mentor / manage performance & develop strong functional group of leaders
* review and improve manufacturing performance, mitigate risks / develop opportunities
* ensure environmental, health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times

The Person
As Head of Materials Control, you will be qualified in a relevant business, materials or manufacturing discipline with significant experience in a similar role for a complex manufacturing site / products including delivering proven continuous improvement and a full understanding of the warehouse and logistics process. You will also have:
* strong strategic leadership / team coaching skills
* ability to motivate / influence / inspire others
* experience of SAP / other MRP systems
* strong commercial acumen / budget control experience
* problem solving / decision making skills
* good verbal and written communication skills
