Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Solihull - Midlands (West)
This small autonomous division of a major PLC takes a leading role in delivering their strategic plans. They have an innovative technology product used in the logistics & field services industries & rapidly expanding customer list
The COO will have responsibility for the ownership & performance of end-to-end production, On-site installations & Customer Support ensuring seamless supply chain solutions as part of an end to end managed service
They will be someone who can take responsibility for a business unit & budget, recruitment of high calibre individuals & the selection & performance monitoring of key third-party suppliers. The COO will be empowered to make decisions on strategy & governance with a high level strategic impact on capability & reputation
The COO must have a clear track record of delivering innovation & improvements in customer experience enabled through the E2E supply chain. The successful management of a complex network of third-party suppliers is a critical part of this role. Along with project delivery, systems development & maintenance
Responsibilities:
•Develop & deliver strategy & business performance with CEO & deliver the P&L/financial performance
•Guide a start-up & build a £100m+ revenue business within 3 years
•Responsible for business operation, the managed service proposition & the sell & maintain channel
•Maximise the sales growth
•Create joint end-to-end propositions for internal & external customers
•Responsible for support/customer services monitoring devices & preventative/reactive maintenance
•Responsible for IT systems –support/maintenance aligning technology & service road-maps
•Responsible for project delivery
•Select third-party suppliers, develop RFPs & monitor/commercialise relationships
•Identify product developments from feedback/manufacturing methods/lessons from production process
•Responsible for roll-out/installation to build the network
•Support CEO/R&D defining & delivering product development road-map
•Develop ambitious strategies to underpin revenue & cost reduction targets
•Influence senior executives to buy-in to strategies
•Identify key issues impacting revenue ambitions
•Recommend/engage new strategic vendors
•Support business development defining solutions & communicating/selling to prospective customers
•Understand issues & dynamics involved in business change
•Lead performance management process
Experience:
•MBA/similar degree desirable
•Track record in operating/presenting/influencing at senior levels
•Strong analytical & strategic skills
•5+ years supply chain experience across multiple organisations
•Track record of leading &delivering challenging goals
•A high level of business acumen
•Exceptional relationship management skills
•Ability to communicate clear strategic goals & direction & straightforward & structured arguments to gain buy-in from others
•A motivational leader
