Works Manager Project: Heavy civils with building works
Yorkshire based company with UK travel

Our Client is working within the heavy civil engineering / process industry and following the award of a £40M project they are now looking for an experienced Works Manager to oversee the construction / production side of project. The company is based in the Yorkshire region but the initial requirement is in Oxfordshire
For a permanent position some travel / lodge will be required as the company undertake projects throughout the UK but a generous uplift in salary along with subsistence are paid in these instances. The position is also available on a fixed term contract.
Purpose of Job:
The successful candidate will be expected to drive the programme forward whilst managing a large workforce. You will coordinate site activities and utilise site resources efficiently under the direction of a Project Manager.
Experience Required:
•Previous experience of managing significant civil engineering / heavy civil engineering contracts is essential with experience within the energy from waste, process, power or energy sectors an added bonus.
•Additional building experience would also be preferred
•Proven experience of completing projects to time, budget and to the highest standard
•Experience of managing a workforce of up 200 people at any given time (direct, subcontract and labour only)
•Main contracting experience
•You will also be expected to ensure strict compliance with legislation, particularly relating to Health & Safety, environmental and quality control.
•In addition, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills
