Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, aviation, transport and warehousing, camp services and fuel management.
This is a key strategic position, who will liaise/negotiate on behalf of our client to the highest level within Afghanistan/US/UK MoD officials, whenever required to ensure any issues within the customs clearance process are dealt with/solved right away to ensure the Inbound Supply Chain for our clients customer requirements is not affected.
Reporting into the Senior Supply Chain Manager based in Dubai, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading negotiations with any Afghanistan/US/UK MoD / ISAF officials, strategic approach to be aligned with Corporate & Legal Office in Kabul.
You will control/audit the container inbound documentation process to ensure it is performed as per SOP/Set KPI’s and changes are implemented promptly.
You will understand the different inbound documentation processes through different border crossing points, which includes Import Tariff Memo / T1/ Muaffi Nama Process and to ensure they are followed:
PAKGLOC to Kabul/Bagram/HRDC – through Torkham and Chaman Border
NDN to Kabul/Bagram/HRDC – through Hairaton and Thurgundi Border
Northern Stan Inbound to Hairaton/Kabul – through Hairaton Border
You will ensure that fines are calculated based on the set rules with Afghan authorities and paid in the agreed time frame.
Knowledge and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge, you will be an ambitious customs professional with your management experience ideally gained in a global operating environment. With outstanding leadership ability and a strong customer focus, you will have the confidence to win credibility and make an immediate contribution.
Your work experience should ideally be supported by a qualification in either a logistics, supply chain, purchasing or operational doctrine.
You will be familiar with import / export documentation processes and ideally have experience with Governmental and Ministry departments.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
