Anaerobic Digestion | Site Manager | Surrey

The Green Recruitment Company is assisting a leading, organic waste management company in the search for an experienced AD Site Manager to oversee the management of the anaerobic digestion team and process. This is A key role at the cutting edge of renewable energy, leading the way in biogas and green electricity production.

The Client:

The client is a leading multi-disciplinary organic waste management/bio-energy organisation.

The Role:

The role is to ensure that the site is operated as efficiently and safely as possible, in compliance with relevant regulation; and that it delivers outstanding service to its customers. You will deliver ?best in sector? operational performance at your site. This role will involve directly line managing two individuals and yourself reporting into the Operations Manager.

Safe and compliant operation of the site and all ancillary activities

Plant Operations : processing

* Planning and managing the processing of all feedstocks
* Communicating plant capacity to the sales team in advance
* Maximising operating efficiency/margins : site PandL responsibility
* Planning and purchasing all sundries, services for site
* Reporting, analysing and addressing variances (weekly/monthly KPIs)

Digestate management : haulage, spreading

* Ensuring PAS110 compliance and securing required permits, licenses, exemptions
* Planning spreading operations for maximum efficiency (minimum cost)
* Finding outlets for products; and maximising revenues
* Liaising with local farmers, contractors : timings, quantities

Other Key Responsibilities

* Delivering high levels of site Health and Safety 24/7
* Maintaining adequate records, samples, lab tests regimes, Ensuring compliance with BMS, Managing complaints : first line, Liaising as required with EHO, EA, HSE, AH , Maintaining PAS110; ABPR certifications, Adhering to planning conditions.
* Building and maintaining a strong rapport with Waste teams, local communities and prospective customers.

The Individual:

* Proven experience in working within an industry with clear quality protocols
* Previous ability/qualification of ensuring site and team safety
* Previous ability/qualification of leading and motivating a team
* Computer literate
* Knowledge and proven ability or working within an ISO Management System or similar
* Mechanical/electrical aptitude
* Operation of plant and machinery
* Sensitivity to the biological process
* WAMITAB COTC 4 would be advantageous
* Formal training in managing operational Health and Safety would be advantageous
