Business Development Manager - UK Wide

Salary: GBP 45k-GBP 55k

The Company:

My client is a professional membership body and learned society for the nuclear industry. They conduct educational and outreach activities, organise events and conferences, produce a respected industry journal, and supports professionalism within the industry and of their members. They work closely with other organisations, as well as the Engineering and Science Councils and Society for the Environment which licence my client to register professionals as Chartered Engineers, Scientists and Environmentalists as well as other grades of registration. My client has over 3k members, a small staff team of 5 people and around 400 volunteers.

The Role:

The successful candidate will take responsibility for driving growth of my clients individual and company membership schemes and act as an account manager to a number of large clients, often household names. The role will include supporting activities such as new qualification development, programme approval, coordination of company membership benefits and promotion of nuclear professionalism. The BDM will operate as the number two to the CEO and will oversee the work of the Membership Manager in meeting goals and ensuring targets are met whilst maintaining high quality standards relating to their licences. This role is for someone with the acumen to work at a senior level within the nuclear industry to develop the business and maintain stakeholder engagement to lead growth of my clients organisation and its activities.

Please note, this role could include some considerable travel throughout the UK although has managed without during the current pandemic. Although the role can be based anywhere in the UK a NW or Western location would be advantageous. Own transport would be necessary with full clean driving licence.

The post will have a core salary and performance-related element.

This position is home-based (with travel to meet clients). Occasional team meetings in person will be arranged which could be in London or elsewhere.

Role Responsibilities:

* Working with the CEO and Trustees, develop stakeholder engagement at a senior level to maintain and strengthen my clients profile.
* Business development will include developing strong relationships with key nuclear companies towards membership, encouraging the uptake of professional standards and regular servicing of their needs for membership workshops etc.
* Develop the Education Affiliate grade to encourage more take up by universities and students and encourage integration of these with the branches and Young Generation Network.
* Lead on their relationship with the Engineering Council, Science Council and Society for the Environment in maintaining their licences, upholding and raising high standards of operation and improving their registration numbers through all three bodies
