Curriculum Team Leader of Modern Foreign Languages
Location: Staines, Surrey
Salary: L5 - L10 (Fringe) GBP 50,370 - GBP 56,861
We are seeking a Curriculum Team Leader of MFL to join our clients central support team in fulfilment of their vision to achieve Excellence through collaboration. Our client is a small, but growing, Multi-Academy Trust consisting of two secondary schools. Management Responsibility may be available for suitably qualified candidates.
The Role:
Our client are looking for an enthusiastic and committed practitioner to lead their team of dedicated Spanish and French teaching staff who are determined to make a difference to the lives and futures of young people. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to really have an impact and shape the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum, as the school continues on its journey of improvement.
Job Purpose:
* Ensure the quality of teaching and learning continues to meet the high aspirations of the learners, providing them with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required for success in their chosen next steps
* Innovate and develop an inclusive, inspiring and enriching MFL curriculum
* Develop and maintain a rigorous system of monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning and student outcomes across the curriculum
* Inspire more students to continue studying a modern foreign language at GCSE level.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
* Evidence of successful MFL teaching at KS3 and KS4. Please note that the preference is for a Spanish specialist who can also teach French to at least KS3, but they will consider a suitably qualified French specialist with KS3 Spanish and a willingness to develop their KS4 Spanish.
* An ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with pupils and colleagues
* Recent, relevant professional leadership development
