Are you an embedded software engineer, proficient with C++ code development and high level GUI development, looking to join a world leading organisation within oil & gas exploration?
Experienced with embedded real time software development on proprietary hardware systems, you will be able to work across a number of platforms (Android & Linux) and be experienced in product manufacturing.

Job Description:
* Your work will be varied and for example might encompass PC applications such as analytics of seismic data; driver level real-time embedded development on seismic instruments and Bluetooth applications for mobiles to communicate in real-time with sensors.
* This is an environment where high reliability and high efficiency design are essential in order to operate unattended for extended periods on the sea bed, recording seismic data.
* We also use a variety of network communications including radio over IP and satellites for reading seismic data in remote places.
* We anticipate that candidates will have worked in a product manufacturing environment not purely research so industries such as instrumentation, defence, medical and scientific products are particularly relevant.

Education:
* A degree in Electronics Engineering is essential. Alternatively a degree in Physics with a strong element of Electronics.
* Maths and Science A levels (or equivalent) are essential.

Essential to have an understanding in the following areas:
* Basic digital electronics design
* Basic analog electronics design
* Practical problem solving at both system and component level
* Embedded real time software development on proprietary hardware systems
* Thorough understanding of engineering maths (Laplace transforms, Fourier, Z transforms, numerical methods etc)
* C++ code development
