Our client is a school with an enviable history. This Christian school is very proud of its royal patronage and is committed to fostering Christian principles within a caring community, where people of all faiths and beliefs are made welcome.
Purpose-built classrooms provide first class facilities for study whilst purpose-build boarding houses provide comfortable, modern accommodation for Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary pupils.
Predominantly a boarding school, they provide continuity of education from seven to eighteen years. Unusually, they are able to provide the very best of boarding education at reasonable charges. As a state school, they are only able to admit children from UK or EU families.
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estates Bursar in a large unique, exciting, successful and developing boarding school.
The School has a roll of 1150 pupils of which over 500 are full time boarders.
The Estates Bursar will take control of a recently started refurbishment programme of the existing 25 buildings as well as developing plans for a number of new additions.
Person Specification:
This is a very demanding and exciting role and calls for an exceptional candidate who needs to be a leader, highly analytical, a good communicator and negotiator, an excellent organiser, a strong administrator and a self-starter.
The successful candidate is likely to be from a surveying background with significant estate management experience, ideally in the education sector and have a proven record of leadership of teams within a services environment.
The successful candidate will be flexible, energetic, creative and willing to go the `extra mile`. He or she will be positive, open minded, team spirited, hardworking and be ready to develop and learn professionally.
A good general level of education will be essential to degree and/or professional qualification level. However a wide selection of backgrounds will be considered for this role.
