Group Sales Director

My client is a well-established, profitable and innovative Scottish technology manufacturing business, with a global sales reach that spans several continents. They have offices and subsidiary companies in their key sales territories that cover the UK, Europe, North Africa, Middle East, India and North America.

As market-leaders in their field, my client is seeking to appoint an experienced Group Sales Director to cover a wide range of their territory and product areas as the organisation is embarking on a period of International sales growth and expansion.

This newly created post will report into the CEO and as part of the senior management team will participate in Board meetings, within months of appointment the post will formally become appointed to the Board.

The candidate should have International sales experience and have an excellent understanding of strategic sales. The post can be based anywhere in the UK.

The role will focus on:

Sales Strategy - setting the optimum sales strategy for the group of companies and delivering transformational change to the sales organisation and sales teams to help the company achieve its goals.

Sales Growth - overall responsibility for achieving the sales growth defined by the annual budgets in cooperation with the Group CFO and other Directors.

Team Management - guide sales strategies and communications and work with the Sales Teams to set out the optimum sales strategies and gather market intelligence.

Business Development - manage and oversee local and International Business Development activities.

Applying candidates should have a CV that details:

* An excellent track record in the technology industry and ideally with some career experience of working for a manufacturer.
* Preferably, Board level Sales Director experience or as a senior sales manager in a larger organisation.
* Proven experience and track record in meeting sales targets.
* Ability to manage longer-term sales processes and close deals.
* Display sufficient product understanding in order to be able to pitch and position our products against competition.
* A solid grasp of the sales process, both for sales through distribution and for sales direct to system integrators.
* Familiarity in working with consultants.
* Proven ability to manage and run a disparate team of sales professionals across multiple territories.

Salary indicative of the seniority of the role £60k to £100k with a performance-related commission/bonus of around £30k.
