HEAD OF FINANCE

REED Finance are partnering with a highly successful, international and market leading scientific services business to recruit a permanent head of finance.

My client offer a range of innovative and high tech scientific services across the commercial and public. Despite their size and international reach they remain acquisitional.
The position is based near Twickenham and will require some travel to other UK sites.

The role -
To manage and deliver the finance function of one UK division and to support the business and separate business units contained within. This will be achieved through the provision of Financial Controller and Management Accountancy within the business and to provide management and Business Unit Managers with a deep understanding of their profitability

● Motivating and developing the Accounting, AP, AR functions - team of 6
● Subsequent monitoring and detailed analysis of the P&L
● Analysis of production processes and ERP system output to monitor and report WIP
● Planning and reporting of Key Indicators
● Creating business unit specific reports
● Designing advance reports and tools for use within the business to improve visibility and decision making
● Provide financial acumen to Continuous Improvement and Capital investment projects
● Manipulating and interpreting of large sets of business data using proprietary and bespoke software
● Procurement, with support of UK National Service Centre team.
● Reporting of month end accounts and commentary for each business sector, including KPI's and graphs.
● Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management information complete with key P&L variance analysis.
● Preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts
● Provide commentary versus budget and forecast
● Supporting, mentoring and training the Business Unit Managers, whilst also challenging them around performance.
● Monitoring overheads with insight to allow strong control on spend.
● Tracking of efficiency programs, projects and spend.
● Capex analysis, review and reporting.
● Lead on bids and tenders.
● Support on M&A activity and integration.

To be considered for this excellent role in this great business you will -

Be a fully qualified accountant who has ideally worked in a similar role within a complex processing or manufacturing business. In addition you will have -
● Proven aptitude for data analysis
● Advanced Excel, G suite, which may include SQL server and general database skills
● Previous experience of working with departments outside Finance and across multilayered group operations.
● Ability to work on projects and solve problems independently

Salary on this position is circa £75k plus an extensive range of additional benefits, bonus etc.
