This leading international IT services firm has enjoyed fast growth and has become a major thought leader across multiple industry sectors
They wish to expand their footprint within the European telecoms sector by appointing a very senior individual to lead pre-sales and bid management activities across the firm. The individual will be very engaged with customers and will deal at ‘C’ level within major Telecom operators. The successful candidate will have a particular focus on thought leadership for next generation telecom services, technologies and business processes.
Responsibilities
•Work as part of the Telecom Sector leadership team to formulate strategy, define service offerings & plan the go-to-market approach
•Co-ordinate with Sales & the wider corporate organisation to identify opportunities & lead the discussions with customers to define innovative next generation solutions for their business
•Manage & take a hands-on role in structured, detailed & compelling pre-sales engagements ensuring in-depth stakeholder engagement throughout long & complex sales cycles
•Assist the sales team to drive revenue & profitability growth within the sector.
•Build strong relationships at “C” level and amongst key leaders within client organisations becoming a trusted advisor & thought leader
•Co-ordinate internal teams & resources to ensure strong planning & efficient execution of client projects
•Recruit & manage a small team of pre-sales, solution consulting & bid management specialists
•Continually research telecoms industry technical, organisational & process trends & innovations
•Attend conferences & engage in public speaking & press liaison to enhance wider recognition of the capabilities of the organisation
Skills:
•Extensive knowledge of telecommunications from a technology, services & operational perspective
•Experience of architecting & defining large scale (£20m+) complex solutions for telecom operators
•Possess extensive experience of leading the pre-sales activities for high value, complex services
•The character, maturity, experience & authority to operate effectively at C level within major European telecoms operators. Must be able to get attention & drive the agenda rather than merely follow events.
•Understand & have opinions on the future evolution of the industry & how operators need to innovate to compete & grow their businesses
•Able to coordinate people & resources across a complex international organisation to efficiently deliver innovative solutions
•Strong people management & leadership skills
•Well educated & possess a strong technical knowledge foundation
•Previous experience of being a spokesperson & thought leader for an innovative services firm
•Willing & able to undertake frequent short-term travel
You must be a UK/EU National or already be resident in the UK with a current Work Permit & excellent English communication skills
