We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Industrial Design Engineer to join a global technology and R&D development services company. You will be creating, analysing and developing new products across a wide variety of market sectors and technologies including consumer goods (white, brown, FMCG), medical devices, industrial tools and all manner of other products - boredom will never be an issue! An interest and experience in Human Factors Engineering or Industrial Design would be beneficial along with demonstrable experience in the detailed engineering of products.

Industrial Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative and complex products and systems;

Liaise and work with the client and client technical team during the course of a project;

Development of GUI and A-surface design ensuring design integrity is retained into mass production.

Support Human Factors engineering through user studies and the production of usability documentation.



Experience & Qualifications

Candidates need to be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (eg. Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors, Ergonomics), with appropriate industry experience.

Experience and skills should include some, or all, of the following:

Product design experience to include the development of new products, ideally gained within a commercial environment.

3D / 3D CAD design experience, preferably SolidWorks and/or ProE (Creo) or similar

Good graphical skills, sketching and mockups, experience in Adobe suite tools such as PS, Ai, Xd

Exposure to the medical device development process.

Experience of working in a multi-skilled environment (i.e. developing electro-mechanical products)

Experience of managing projects or work packages to tight timescales throughout the full product life cycle.

Exposure to Human factors engineering (preferably in the medical space) including user studies and usability documentation.

Experience in design for manufacturing, manufacturing processes.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills- confident and capable in a client facing role.
